Over the next two weeks small and micro businesses in the UK – businesses just like yours – have the opportunity to become Marketing Super Heroes!
By taking advantage of the spotlight being firmly placed on ‘buying’ – with the emphasis on buying from small and micro businesses.
Using Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Small Business Saturday you have a way to promote yourself and your products and services by creating fantastically great offers and promotions that will really appeal to your customers.
It’s your time to shine as a Small Business Super Hero
The dates you need to know are:
- Black Friday – Friday 24th November 2017
- Cyber Monday – Monday 27th November 2017
- Small Business Saturday – Saturday 2nd December 2017
So why are these dates, at this time of year, so important?
Late November through to early January sees a massive increase in spending year-on-year, with many businesses taking between 20% and 40% of their annual turnover during these months. And there is a beneficial impact for small and micro businesses, as spending increases, on average, by more than 8%, while larger businesses see a smaller increase in the region of 2.5%
Now you know why, what are you going to be doing? Here are just three ideas.
Provide a little extra TLC
As a small or micro business, you have the advantage of being very close to your customers, so providing more personal attention or an ‘exclusively for you’ offer so that your customers and clients feel highly valued could be the way to go. Remember – people do like low prices, but not all offers and promotions are discounts!
. People like low prices, but they also like to feel valued. Offer extended support, a no-hassle refund policy, and other assurances that reduce the possibility of buyer’s remorse.
Promote gift cards
Eight out of 10 shoppers had gift cards on their holiday shopping list last year – could your business get in on that trend? If you work in the beauty industry or sell products like make-up, wine or food it may seem easier, but how about having some pre-pay vouchers for business mentoring, coaching or stationery products?
Do something special for great customers
Why not focus on those people who are the cornerstone of your business. As a small or micro business, it’s usually 20% of our customers that provide 80% of our turnover. Why not offer them something exclusive as a reward and thank you for being so loyal?
It’s not too late for you to create an offer, so put your thinking cap on and come up with something that will reward, nurture or encourage your customers to come and buy.
